SEE YOU IN '08

2008 Schedule Released - Hello Primetime!
The 2008 schedule has been released and the Browns will see action in five, YES FIVE, primetime games.  The includes three Monday night games, after being shunned for the last few years.  Let's hope our team meets those expectations.

Weekly Message From The Secratary - 12/21
1.) How about them Browns!  In a world where leaf blowers drown out the sounds of the game, the browns pull of an 8-0 victory!  The last time a score was 8-0, was back in 1929 where the Minnesota Red Jackets lost to the Chicago Bears!!  Check out what Romeo had to say about the victory!

2.) Pro-Bowl selections are out.  Cribbs (Starter) and Edwards (2nd Team) make the list...but Derek and K2 are snubbed!!!  Can you blame the NFL?  What, with Peyton, Brady and Little Ben, do you really think he would have made it?

3.) One of our members found out that the Browns are possibly changing their Uniforms!!  We've got to have one of the longest standing color schemes in the game right?  Well, what do you think about the color change?  WOIO back home interviewed some fans...check it out.

4.) I found a video of Derek Anderson talking about his rivalry with Kellen Clemens.  Found it to be interesting as they are both from the PNW.

5.) Another interesting Browns site...roberts rants.

Since everyone is most likely heading out for the holidays, why don't you come on down to the City and watch the game with the remaining fans?

Your humble Secretary,

Weekly Message From The Secratary - 12/15
1.) What a turnout last week!  From my head count, we had around 58 people at the City!!  It was so packed, that the staff was quoting a 45 minute turnaround on food orders!!!

2.) We saw the Browns hold off the last minute attempts of the Jets, and pull off a great win!  How manly was Jamaal Lewis in that last TD eh?  What a battle between the two QBs of the PNW in K. Clemens and D. Anderson!!!

3.) We have a great game coming up this Sunday!!  We'll be playing the other team that hasn't won a Superbowl...or any other championship since any of us can remember!!!

Your humble Secretary,

Stephen Udycz

Weekly Message From The Secratary - 12/6
1.) For those of you that came down to the city last weekend, we appreciate your patronage!  With Browns games on local channels, its great to feel the camaraderie when everyone is on their feet screaming at the big screen.  Thanks to everyone for showing up!

2.) On to the game!!  What a sloppy mess in the desert eh?  DA throws for 300+ yds, but couldn't keep the ball out of the hands of Rod Hood!!!  That guy was everywhere!!  K2 makes a stellar catch over 2 defenders, only to get pushed out.  Since that type of play isn't reviewable, it goes as an incomplete.  My personal opinion, get rid of the whole rule about being pushed out!  Its rather frustrating to watch receivers take advantage of it.  (Include in that, the whole debacle surrounding the "icing" of kickers.)

3.) I'm including an email from the Bay Area Browns Backers prez Bud to note how angry everyone is at the "no-catch":

Bay Area Browns Backers (BABB) & Browns Backers Worldwide:
WINSLOW MAKES ONE OF THE HARDEST CATCHES IN NFL HISTORY

OK, Anderson, Bodden, Cribbs made huge mistakes that handed AZ 21 points, but even with that large point gift, Cle still should have won.
In the last play, Kellen Winslow jumps up in traffic and is even interfered with but still makes the catch while in the air – in bounds, is pushed, but still gets one foot down: all proof that he was pushed out but would have landed in bounds, which is a clear TD.  Cle wins 28-27.

The refs are in a very fast game that time has passed most of them up. They are generally a group of dated, aged, unprofessional, gutless wonders of part time low paid refs that the NFL claims are "professional".  Is that not clear NFL?

The NHL pays for 24 by 7 FULL time refs. Why can't the richer NFL do the same and end this pervasive problem of terrible calls made by part time refs?

Last night the SAME type of pass play (pushed out of bounds) was called GOOD for the Pittsburgh receiver. And it was the right call.

Do the right thing NFL. We can take the loss, but not when it involves the wrong call.  We can overlook that Winslow was horse collared a few plays earlier and NO call.  Yet when the AZ receiver was horse collared the same way, you called a penalty against Cle. OK, we can take that – just make the right call.  A game winning TD was the right call.

Regardless of the rules, we have very few down at the City...except to have a good time!!

Your humble Secretary,

Stephen Udycz

1.) Last week...A win!!  A glorious, palpable win!!  We just keep racking them up!  Luckily, we have one of the easiest reamaining schedules around!  Yes, that's right, we're talkin playoffs!!  The question is, do we play Pittsburgh, Indy, or Jasksonville!!

Weekly Message From The Secratary - 11/21
Sorry about not getting out the reminder and notes for last week.  Still a bit upset about the Buckeyes losing.  Here are some notes from the last week!

1.) So, for the people that came last week, what a game!!  The ball bounces off the support beam and back onto the field.  Hey, I'm glad that we got one to go our way!!

2.) CC...yo CC!!  Mr. Sabathia was awarded the Cy Young award for the American League!  Now, if we can only re-sign him for less than an arm and a leg.  Maybe we can make a little cash on the side by siging him up as the spokesperson for Jenny Craig!!

3.) The Ducks laid an egg, and lost to Arizona.  Cryin's brother Brady throws 2 Ints, and leads Oregon to further futility.  Who would have predicted it?

4.) The Buckeyes beat our archrivals in a BORING 14-3 win.  I would have liked to see Henne pass for a few more yards and actually try to win for Lloyd, who actually retired on Monday.

5.) For those of you traveling back to Cleveland to see a game, remember the following:

- The Women of Cleveland Browns Stadium aren't that good looking.

- The Steelers Suck

- Nothing compares to Good Ole Municipal Stadium, unless you're not from Cleveland

- You left cleveland for two reasons...#1....#2

- Cleveland has become Columbus North

- We have some serious fans in Cleveland!!

- We hate Pittsburgh

Work off that Turkey by yelling and screaming!!
Come on down to the City!

Your humble Secretary,

Stephen Udycz

Weekly Message From The Secratary - 11/2
A so-so week for Cleveland Fans...but what week isn't SSDD for Cleveland Fans?

1.) GOOOO BROWNS!  For those of you that came to the game last weekend, you got to see one heck of an offensive effort from our Brownies!  27-20 was the final, and every moment was amazing at the bar!

2.) We play the "local" team back home!  Seahawks are walking into Cleveland airport shaking in their crazy uniforms.  Can't wait to see the game...and hear about the friendly wagers everyone has been placing with their office mates!!

3.) Bill Parcels gives Romeo Crennel a pat on the back!  Make sure to scan all the way to the end of the video to hear the Big Tuna compliment Romeo!!

4.) The Bucks are Rollin!  They ended up whompin on the Nittany Lions on national TV!!  This week, they face those crazy badgers...lets just cross our fingers.

5.) Queen James gets railed by the Mavs.  A HUGE loss 92-74...and ESPN has the Cavs missing the playoffs.  PLAYOFFS?? We're talkin about PLAYOFFS?

DON'T SIT AT HOME FOR THIS ONE!!
Come on down to the City!

Your humble Secretary,

Stephen Udycz

Weekly Message From The Secratary - 10/25
Another couple of weeks to sit back and reflect...

1.) Browns were on a bye week.  Nothing good, nothing bad...right?  Well, since we didn't lose OR win, we've been bumped up into top 10 of the power rankings for Jason Cole, and we've now broken the top 20 for ESPN!!  Probably has something to due with an offense ranked 7th overall!!  Who would have thunk it?!?!

2.) So, I now turn back into a true Cleveland fan and LAMENT YET AGAIN about a season gone bye...
- I watch John Williams direct the Boston Pops in the National Anthem during the opening ceremonies for the World Series (sans tribe).
- I dream of YaYa Ling directing the Cleveland Orchestra a Jacobs field.
- I reminisce sitting at McGillacudy's last week with a 3-1 lead and thinking to myself..."the Tribe just might do it!!
- I remind myself that God hates Cleveland Sports."

I have to say, that I'm really not surprised.  We have the history to prove it.  Not since 1948?  What's one more year to wear that Indians cap and look down at the ground shaking your head...

3.) Well, at least one team is doing well!  Them bucks in Cleveland South...I mean Columbus!  They're ranked #1 in the polls right now, and play in Happy Valley this Saturday, in what's becoming a rather big rivalry?  Not sure if anyone has been to The Shoe or Beaver Stadium for a OSUv.PSU game before, but I'm so ready to place them right below OSUvs.Michigan, and right above that other big rivalry in the Big 10...uuuh, does OSU have another rival?

Time to drown your sorrows Cleveland fans!  No...not in beer...our stomachs already hurt from watching all of those FrankTV commercials!  Drown them in our .500 (soon to be .571) Browns!  Come on down to the City this weekend!!
Your humble Secretary,

Stephen Udycz
